During the Hasselblad Workshops hosted in Delhi and Mumbai I had the opportunity to have a couple of free afternoons that I spent shooting Street Photography.
Some of the images are shot with my Canon 5D MKIII while others with the new Hasseblad Lunar.
If you want to have a look to all the images jump to my Street Photography Gallery on my website.
The 22 of July during the Cortona on the Move photo festival I will hold a workshop about Street Photography.
Street photography is, among all photographic disciplines, one of the most complete and useful to develop the ability to shoot in any condition.
Regardless of one’s favorite photographic genre, regardless if for passion or profession, I always recommend to my students and colleagues to embrace street photography as a tool for growth.
One’s photographic technique is strengthened evidently the more you apply yourself in the street photography. You learn about the ambient light in all its forms as well as shooting in mixed natural / artificial light. One also develops the ability to see and interpret situations in a less superficial way.
The workshop is organized with the support of Workshop on the Road and the sponsorship of Hasselblad.

Many thanks to the wonderful Angela Butler for her kind support.
I love to walk so today I decided to go in the city center of Rome to have a coffee and to take some street pictures. I bringed with me my Canon 5D MKIII with the 35mm F2 Canon lens.
Worked mainly in Aperture mode with an iso that was moving from 400 to 3200 depending on the scene.
Enjoyed the way the new focus system of the camera work and I felt a big difference between the MKIII and the previous generation of 5D.
The first two are images shooted by Tony while I was taking a street portrait.
I was walking in Via Nazionale in Rome when I notice a Taxi Driver on the side of the street having relax smoking a cigarette.
I got as near as I could without asking permission and shot few frames. The man looked at me smiling. I told him I was a street photographer and I showed him the pics.
The last image was the one I choosed from the three frames I shot.

A series of portraits that I made in India in 2008. I was working as Steve McCurry assistant on an assignment for Nokia.
During the several hours I spent scouting around I made some black and white Street Portraits.
Shooted in ambient light with Canon EOS 5D Mark II and a EF24-70mm f/2.8L USM lens.
Black and white using Topaz Black & White Plugin.
